Sunday Funday!

Sunday.... annual church in the park.  LOVE!
Followed up by a picnic putluck in the park.
And of course.... playing!
Could not have asked for 3 better behaved kids.  Proud morning!

Afterwards we wanted to enjoy the nice (& not too hot) weather, so we headed to the zoo.
One of their favorite places right now is the butterfly house.  Logan loves "flutter-bys!"
 And they love Jellyfish!
And NEMO!!  3rd favorite movie (after CARS 1 & CARS 2) is officially Finding Nemo (followed by Cat in the Hat)!

It was an AWESOME DAY!!

Good night for a hot bubble bath!

Remember when we found shit in our ball pit?  Remember??!!  Oh that was a classic, unforgetable moment.

Well today we had what seems to be a sort of round 2. (only it was #1)

The kids have been playing where they set up a toy bin, or baby bed, or something & put their Little Tikes chairs around it.  Then they "jump in" the "swimimng pool."  Their play is all about acting out things they have done.

Well today, after "jumping in" Livi was "swimming" in that "pool" (baby bed).

Meanwhile, Logan was waiting his turn to jump, standing up on a chair.  With all this potty training business we spend a LOT of time pant-less in this house.  And well, while standing up on a chair, above Livi who was "swimming" below.... he had an accident.  #1.

I was in the bedroomfolding laundry.  Oblivious to 97% of the above.
Jeff was cleaning up the kitchen.
Logan was yelling "NEED TO GO PEE POTTY!"
Livi was crying "I'm all wet."

Jeff got there, realized what happened & took Livi to the bathroom while saying something about it apparently being bath time.  Thats all I heard & thats the moment I first realized something was up.

When I got to the bathroom, having not a clue what I was walking into, I literally fell to the ground with laughter.  There stood Livi, soaking wet hair.... Logan had PEED ALL OVER HER!

Good night for a long, hot, bubble bath.

Hayden... 1.5 weeks post-op

Hayden is pretty much back to his old self.
I gave him Tylenol yesterday morning & he has had nothing since.

This past Tuesday.... it got a little rocky.  Rocky, as in, he was clingy, needy, a little irritable & ran a low grade fever in the evening.  Nothing we can really complain about at all.  Wednesday was better-ish, but again that low grade fever in the evening.  After a little Dr. Google action, I discovered that around day 7-8 post-op is when those tonsil "scabs" fall off.  And in talking to other people, they found those days to be hard ones too.  So I pulled out the trusty flashlight & peeked in his mouth.... and of course, those white "scabs" that had been there just 48 hours prior had completely disappeared.

By Thursday, he was over it.  And hasn't looked back since.

Pretty sure by next week when we go for his 2 week follow-up, he won't have lost an ounce!
Drooling is significantly less than both immediately post-op AND pre-op.

Pretty much amazing!

Hot summer days

Baby its been HOT outside.  Here's what we've been doing to survive the heat!

Swimming!  We have been trying to get in some swim time, (amongst the hours spent indoors for the horribly hot temperatures & amongst the hours spent packing!)  Daycare daddy has mastered taking the 3 tots to the public pool solo & we have also gone as a family & done some swimming at home.  And they are LOVING it!

"Look I'm putting my back in the water!"
 "1..2...7...8...9...10...11... JUMP!"
She's kind of our dare devil!
The day wouldn't be complete if Logan's cars didn't go down the slide too.

Eating POPSICLES!!!!

More swimming!

Baby pool at the public pool.  Best part is if you just go to the baby pool... its FREE!!  We love us some FREE activities!!

Trying out some new juices.
Logan for some reason was of the belief that this was beer & kept telling us he was drinking purple beer :)  Apparently we've been doing too many projects around the house that require an adult beverage for reward!

And grilling some awesome suppers!

Seriously, how did I not try aspargus until I was 29!?  How have I missed out on this for so long!!!
This year corn on the cob is a HUGE HUGE hit!
We have eaten it 2 nights in a row now & tonight Hayden ate 2 whole ears!!

Loving us some summertime!!

It's Independence Day!

Pretty Amazing

Hayden is doing so amazing!  Its really as if nothing ever happened.  To the extent that if I hadn't myself seen that sore back of his throat day 1 post-op, I might not believe they actually took anything out!

Drinking is a non-issue.  He eats well.  Maybe not old Hayden well, but normal 2 year old well.  He wanted pizza one day this week for supper, so we ordered Pizza Hut & he ate the toppings (not the crust).  Today he wanted french fries, & he ate those just fine.

Last night we let him go through the night with out Tylenol.  The first few days I slipped it to him every 4 hrs even in his sleep.  Then I did a day or 2 of letting him go some 6 hour stretches a night.  And this morning he woke up just fine after 12 Tylenol-less hours.  I'm going to start stretching out his daytime doses today & see how it goes.  I don't imagine it will be a problem, but things are going so great I don't want to backtrack if infact that Tylenol is doing that much for him.

Sleeping fine.  Drooling less each day.  Not snoring!  (ok sometimes a little, but nothing like before)

He has been the least cranky one the past few days & Jeff thinks maybe we should just take everyone's tonsils out!!
