Livi is learning about a "word" a day, this is what I mean. This is what she has picked up in about the last week.
"Cheese" (when taking pictures)
"peas" = please
"nummy-nummy" = yummy
"out"
"Bak-bak" = what a chicken says
"Choo-choo"
"juicy" = juice
"ow" = ouch
"bubbles"
And it's not a word... but she also knows a frog jumps. {Easier than saying "Ribbit!" I guess.}
Hayden knows a cat says "meow" and says it SO incredibly sweetly it will melt your heart. He also knows a bird says "tweet tweet." And he says "choo choo." Today he said a firetruck says {insert noise of siren here}. So we'll see if that continues. And I swear he is trying to say Olivia. Something between "Lvia" & "Lala." We'll see where it goes.
Logan says "choo-choo" almost constantly. The sweetest, loving-ist train sound you will probably ever hear. Hence the reason we've spent hours watching random train videos on YouTube on the laptop this week. Elmo has evolved from "ca-coe" to something more like "gecko." And he says a very defined "MOM!" (as opposed to some baby babble mamama version) Which of all the words they have learned/perfected this week, for the obvious reason, may just be my favorite!
I think thats it for this week....?
We have been busy...
Having play dates....
Getting ourselves into interesting situations...
Falling in love with "Choo-Choo"s. They all now say "Choo-Choo" & quite enjoy watching train videos on the computer. I think we'll be investing in some Thomas the Train videos soon.
Making messes. Hayden, eating BBQ sauce for supper. Literally he ate it by the fist full. Reminded me of the scene in the movie Big Daddy where the little boy eatch ketchup packets for lunch.
And this.....
No, we're not potty training. But they love sitting on the potty. They fight over turns sometimes. And there were 2 days in a row where Hayden grabbed himself every time he had to go. I asked if he had to potty & he ran for the bathroom. Got there to find like 3 drips of pee in his diaper. But he never would go on the big potty. Livi sometimes does this too & has started semi-"asking" to have her diaper changed. So we figured, what does it matter if we buy them now, or in a year. So off to the store we went to invest in 3 toddler thrones. The first night we had them, Hayden peed in his 4 times!! Olivia twice. Logan sat, but no pee. Hayden even got out of the bathtub, to sit down & pee. Then got back in the tub. That was day one. And though we have sat on them since, there has been no more pee in the pot. They are too little to train anyways. Imagine the nightmare of trying to take 3 20 month olds to a public restroom!!! But I figure, if they are interested & want to sit on a pot, might as well appease them & make it easier for all of us. They know what they are for. And they aren't scared of them or the flushing toilet. Thats a huge step in my book. We'll just see what they want to do from here.... Whenever they want to pee in a pot, at least now we have 3!
Wedding Weekend
This weekend we went to visit G-ma Candy & G-pa Tom. We got to hang out with Tisha, Aaron & Addie too. And we went to a beautiful wedding. We stayed up late, lived on potato chips & yogurt, and played hard. We were in bed pretty early Sunday night (hence the reason I finally have time to update the blog).
Ready for our trip. Babies in hand!
For a change... HAYDEN had a crabby car ride. This was Livi's response. As if SHE had any room to "talk!"
Saturday morning playing outside with Addie.
Addie & Hayden
Addie & Logan (teething something, they all always are chewing on fingers!)
Livi's 1st painted toes!! (Mama didn't do that great of a job though!)
Logan, Addie & Hayden sharing snacks at the wedding.
He refused to look at me for a picture. (Notice the toy car in the snack cup. Two priorities. Food & anything that goes "vroom!")
Daddy & Logan
Mama & Livi (who now says "Cheese" when we get out the camera!)
Afterwards before heading to the reception, we played with some other kids & lots of bubbles! Took about 10 minutes & Livi has another new word. "Bubbles!!!" She's going on about a word a day...
We apparently hadn't worn these sandals for a while. Poor Hayden's toes almost hung off the ends. Guess its time for fall & bigger size of shoes!
Logan had a blast. He was so excited he just had to run & squeel!
Our Fam at the reception :)
Sunday morning the kiddos got to play again. G-ma had bought some fun balloons to play with! Its so much fun getting the 4 of them together. So glad they can have a cousin so close in age. They are all just about the same size. They did a good job sharing with eachother. And giving eachother hugs & kisses!
Seriously.... look at those pin curls!!
Logan & Addie
Hayden thought those balloons were THIS exciting!
Logan, Adelyn, Olivia & Hayden
Some misc. items & another trip to the pool
They are learning to "build" with their big legos or duplos or whatever they are called. It intrigues me though, because they insist on stacking ONLY the same size blocks on each other. Meaning they will not put a single block on a double block. Is that normal??
Livi's hair just keeps growing! You can't tell in most pictures because it is so curly. When its wet it actually is almost to her shoulders in back, almost. Not on the sides though. Its definately mullet-ish. And the weirdest part is the very underneath part hasn't grown. It looks like we shaved it under there.
Wearing mama & daddy's shoes is a new favorite activity. Hayden going for a jog before bed.
We have been reading books & working on animal sounds. Livi now says a bird says "tweet tweet." In one of our animal books there is also a picture of a farmer. I once {literally once} said, "That is a farmer, like Grandpa." {Meaning Great Grandpa Carl} And now Livi always turns to that page & exclaims "Papa!" Snuggles the book & gives "Papa" kisses. Silly girl.
I think we have officially become fishies!! Yay! We had not been to the Gretna baby pool in a while, so we took a trip there today. We weren't sure how it would go there. Until today that pool had not been as big of a success. We wondered how it would go without a slide or zero entry. But it went great. They have gained some courage. Have learned some balance to walk in the water. And are getting good at getting themselves up if they happen to go under! We have been trying to get them to "jump" in to us. But so far they either just sit down on the ledge, or step off the edge with 1 foot.
How is Logan so much more tan than Hayd & Liv? He is SO tan.
Hayden swimming on his belly. Logan just carrying around, cars. What else?
Hayden
Logan liked this floaty. Luckily the other kid was nice enough to let him run around with it.
We have a few of our own, not nearly so exciting. $1 store version. We have never used them before, just got them out today since Logan was so into the other one. They really were not fond of them though. Livi did find a way to make them fun however. I promise she did this on her own! Ok- we helped her, but it was her idea.
We were splashing & playing. Next thing we knew, the kids were out of the pool getting their shoes. Guess that meant they were done. They sat nice & watched while we changed them into dry clothes. If only it could always be that easy!
And I'll end with this picture, because I find it absolutely hillarious! Since we have been learning how to "swim" this summer things in the bath tub have changed a little bit. Less just sitting & splashing... and more, well, "swimming." There just isn't enough room!! I just laugh so hard everytime I see this!!
Zoo Pass
I think its officially paid for itself? We made another visit to the zoo, this time Grandma GG came along while daddy was at class. We went on a hot, hot day. Which as it turns out, is a GREAT day to go to the zoo. We did just the indoor exhibits, on a random Wednesday afternoon & basically had the place to ourselves!! I'm talking there were 5 other adults in watching the penguins & us & that was it. So they had free reign to run all around with the penguins. Even the aquarium had maybe 10 other people in it, so we got great views!! We got some great Gorilla & Monkey action too! Found a shady spot with a breeze for a little lunch, {AKA fed the ground squirrels our french fries} It was a fun afternoon! And I think the kids' most "involved" trip to the zoo. They are getting more & more inquisitive. And we are working on learning animal noises, so they had a great time.
Hayden was eager to get there. 1 going on 16?
Mama was in the house grabbing snacks & sippies. GG was loading up the kiddos. Hayden was IN the van waiting while Logan got buckled in. He crrawled out of the van. And then crawled back in, into the front seat & took a seat. Ready to go...One of our favorites was the bunnies....
This picture is not zoomed in, he was really that close!
Another close up gorilla or orangutan (apparently I didn't read up on the difference!)
Penguins!
See... we had the place to ourselves. Can you see 3 kiddos running to the far end? They are down there.
Logan
Miss Liv
Hayden.
There is a reason he is a big boy. He had to sit down & bring his cheerios along to watch the penguins.
Livi in the aquarium. Making a silly face!
Logan
When my kids are sick next week... this is why.
They were trying to give kisses to this fish who just sat there right beside us & didn't move! Yum, kiss the glass with everyone elses germs smeared all over it. Oh well.
Logan rather just pointed
And this was the coolest! A HUGE turtle. He just sat there & stared at us. Made me go home & watch Finding Nemo!
Pictures are a little deceiving, but the turtle is actually bigger than all 3 of the kiddos combined.
Attempts at getting a picture of the 3 of them. I can never catch all 3 of them looking, but cute none the less.
