Happy Easter 2013!!

Too big!!

So tonight after several hours & 4 different stores, I found 3 bikes!  And only one has to be assembled.  This Easter Bunny's work is done!

While at Walmart, I decided to stop & pick Hayden up a few more pair of underwear.  The boys got some 4T undies for Christmas, but they are already SOO tight on Haydens little bum.  That boy has got some serious "back."  {Then there is Logan's skinny butt that can still fit into the 2T underwear!}

Anyway, come to find out, 4T is the biggest it comes in the little boy section.
*gasp*

I had to step.across.the.aisle to the bigger-boy section.  I felt like I was walking in uncharted territory.  At least they did have some fun little boy character prints.

How is my little boy so big??!!

I need to do a dresser & closet cleanout.  They are so full of too small socks, undies & t-shirts.  Plus there is a ton of cheap cute summer stuff out & an empty closet & drawers makes me not feel so bad about shopping for them!

Wish this spring weather would stay around once!

Speaking of too big.... these never fail to amaze me.
Clockwise starting top left, Olivia, Hayden, Logan.
Hayden's masterpiece this time was especially shocking.
Look at this color in the lines action!
And the letter this week was K.  This is Hayden's.
This is Olivia's.  Given that she didn't speak, pee or participate for at least the first 12 weeks at school, its an improvement.  For the longest time her papers each week were completely blank.  So at least she is participating in the activities now.  Plus- if she was a doctor I'm sure us nurses would be able to find some legible K's in there.
Logan's.  His fine motor skills are to die for.  He has always been this way though.  Even look at how well he colored in the big letter Ks.  I guess this mornings poop accident is ok, he's obviously too busy focusing on other things.

Poop

The moment I posted THIS blog about Logan being poop trained, was the moment he stopped being poop trained.  He relapsed.  Regressed.  Went back to pooping in his overnight diaper daily.

Then when we went to stay with Jeff's parents last weekend, he pooped in the potty there all 3 days.  Asked to go, with no pressure from us or anything.  Because "Addie is a big girl & poops on the potty too."  Then he didn't poop for a few days.... and I was just waiting for a mess.

I read my friend Marie's blog about potty training her little boy & had to laugh.  A ramped up version of what we did with Logan to get him to poop.

He had a poop accident playing outside yesterday, but did follow it up with trying to poop on the potty 3x in the evening before finally being successful (at like 9:30pm!)  Which made me stop & think, that outside accident is the only one I know he has had now in about a week.  I think?  So maybe his 1 week regression is over... and we are back to moving forward.

He naps dry a lot lately too.  The boys both do maybe 50% of the time.  And Logan has actually woken up in the morning dry several times.  Like if he isn't needing to use the diaper to poop- he can stay dry.  So maybe in a month when we have this poop stuff completely behind us, we'll start pushing dry naps & nights a little bit, since I know they can do it.

Working... then off to "help the Easter Bunny" with his bike shopping tonight.  I'm so glad Logan has had a good pooping week so I don't have to give H & O bikes & not L.  This bike thing has been a bit of a process though.  Logan needs a smaller size than the other 2.  And trying to find two boys bikes in 16in & 14in that are affordable, easy to get & are similar is a task in & of itself.  So we'll see what  I can, the Easter Bunny can come up with.

March of Dimes

Its that time of year again, where I stop to think about how lucky we are.  {Not that I'm ever not thinking about it}  But the March of Dimes walk here is just a month away & I've been so busy enjoying my miracles that I've forgotten completely about it.

The March of Dimes is an organization supporting & researching to help pregnant women grow stronger, healthier babies.  And to find ways to better care for those born too early or those born sick.  This year the March of Dimes is celebrating its 75th year.  And we are celebrating with them!

I went out with a couple friends this past week.  We all used to work together in the NICU where my babies were born.  We have since branched out & gone in different directions, but even so, this organization continues to be part of our lives.  Between the four of us, there have been 3 miscarriages.  Upwards from 4 years of infertility.  4 premature births.  And the loss of a baby.  That is just us four women.  I hardly know anyone anymore whose life this organizaion has not touched.

So I will be walking to support the March of Dimes.  To support babies & parents who have walked through the trenches.  Please consider giving & be a part of something so awesome.  The banner you see above will be at the top of my blog for at least the next month.  Its so easy to click & give whatever you can.  Or click HERE to find out about a walk in your area.

So that fewer babies are born too tiny.

And so that more babies can go from tiny...
{almost 5 weeks old}
to thriving.
{almost 3.5 years old}

Hayden
From 3 pounds 1 ounce & 15.5 inches, to 40 pounds & almost 40 inches!
Olivia
From 2 pounds 14 ounces & 15.5 inches, to 32 pounds & 38.5 inches.
Logan
From 2 pounds 13 ounces & just 14.5 inches, to 31 pounds & 37.5 inches.

We again raised money & braved the cold & rain & walked in 2012.

And we will walk again in 32 days, because babies are something that I feel are worth fighting for.

I will walk for my own babies.
I will walk for Isabelle.

And I will walk for all those who came before us & all those who will follow.

We will walk together, for miracles.

Please join us.

Spring Break- part 2

The kids spent Tuesday, one day of Jeff's break, at school.  They need to stay in that routine at least once a week or it gets too hard to go back.  Gave me a day to get one coat of paint on Liv's bedroom furniture, Jeff & I went out for lunch & we got our taxes done.

Then Wednesday we had a family day.  Took the kids to Morrill Hall to see all the fossils & dinosaur bones.  They were not as into it as we thought they would be.  I think partly because usually when we say "museum" they think of the Children's Museum which = playing.  But they did ok.  And did have some fun playing at the end.

How much would he weigh on the moon or Mars?
Building a dinosaur bone puzzle.
How big are my feet compared to an orangutan?
The boys look scared T-Rex is going to eat them, but really they just didn't want to take a picture with me.
His head is as big as Hayden and Livi!
My favorite from the day.  Logan & the "big fish."
Sitting on an alligator.
There was a kids' room with some toys.  And a dinosaur bone excavation site.  They had fun there.  The "dirt" was made of little pieces of rubber, so it wasn't messy.  And they found some little rocks hiding in here & called them their bones.  So we brought them home.

Then on Thursday we headed off to the Maas' grandparents house for Easter Fun Part 1!

Easter #1

We spent Thursday & Friday at Jeff's parents celebrating Easter.  I had to work Saturday, so I went home Friday night, but Jeff & the kids stayed one more night to get in some good cousin time.  The four 3 year old cousins really had fun together.

Getting ready to color eggs.

Olivia
Logan.  Poor Ava in the background.  Its hard to be the only 1 year old with all those 3 year olds!
Hiding in the bathroom with me while Aunt Tisha was hiding their candy filled eggs!
The 5 little cousins!
Ready.... set...
.... GO!

We dumped them all out & shared so everyone got an even number at the end.

And for fun, their version of "Duck, duck, goose" or "boy goose, boy goose, girl goose"
They played this for hours right before bed.  We though they were so wound up they would never all go to bed, but we put the 4 of them in their sleeping bags & I don't think anyone even moved.  They slept good all night long!!
