I need to get them on video... but they never want to "perform" at the right time. Or they want to WATCH what's on the camera, rather than me recording them, which makes it impossible for me to record them. But my kiddos are ALL about singing songs.
Olivia sings "Unkle star. Unkle star. Up above the world so high. Like a diamond in the sky....." all day long. She also sings her ABCs & is picking up a few more letters beyond A.B.C. "ABCs. M&O. X&Z." But she gets the "now I know my ABCs, next time sing with me" part at the end every time!
Logan also sings his ABCs. His are usually "Ba BCs. WX." But his favorite is to sing "La la la, Elmo's song!" {I think its actually "Elmo's World" on Sesame Street, but its "Elmo's song" on our Elmo DVD}
And Hayden really surprised me last week when we were shopping at Lowes I asked him to sing me a song. And he did! Out of his mouth came "Jesus loves me, this I know. For the Bible tells me so. Jesus loves me. Jesus loves me." I was stunned! Pretty sure I clapped & cheered right there in the aisle! I guess he actually DOES listen to me every now & again?
So between fighting & screaming & crying & yelling "Don't push me" at eachother.... there are a few peaceful sounds at our house. That is until they start fighting "No MY sing it!" "No MY sing it first!"
Molars take 3!
Liv has been a CRAB today. Uber sensitive to everything. Otherwise, fine.
Then tonight she started telling us her ear was owies. Pointing in her left ear.
She doesn't have a fever. She's got a little runny nose. What gives?
Then I dug around in her mouth & discovered a molar almost through back there! Didn't see that coming! That explains that!
Two kiddos teething 2 year molars & trying to get our house ready to sell & Jeff interviewing for jobs. Might want to buy a little more coffee & creamer!!!

mowers
This weekend the weather was BEAUTIFUL! Uncle Alex came up Saturday to hang with the kiddos while Jeff & I got some stuff done. But we decided Sunday we all HAD to get outside. So after running some morning errands, we had a family yard work day! Even the kids "helped!" I always wanted to get them play mowers last summer & never did. So I figured today would be a great day to have them. I decided NOT to show the that they blow bubbles though. That might end my sanity fast!
"Fixing" it.
My 3 little workers!
They mow FAST!!!
Then we cheesed it up for the camera a little bit. So nice to get out with my camera & shoot in natural lighting. I've been using my little point & shoot so much lately..... bad, bad Katie!
Poor teething boy :(
Don't mind her snot. They all have runny noses today :(
Meanwhile, the bathroom looks like THIS!!! The kids were able to take a bath in it tonight. Still needs some sealer before we can shower. But YAY for a pretty AND FUNCTIONAL tub!!!
More counting
1...2...6...7...8....9....2...11!!!
Thats how Hayden counts!
At least he's catching on ;)
Getting some house projects done. Will show you some progress when I have a little more time.
Wishing we would have done some of these things 3 years ago. Or in 2005 when we moved in & wanted to do them!

ON/OFF!
Tonight I'm reminded why we need a bigger house....
For one, Olivia needs a princess room. Just ask her, she'll tell you!
And secondly, the boys need their own rooms so this nightly arguing over having the night light on/off...."light on!" "NO! Light off." "Light ON!!" "Lightttt OFFF!!!" will end!
Ok, they don't really need their own rooms but between Hayden wanting the light on & Logan wanting the light off. {Poor Logan always has to lose. Hayden is just so much moreannoying, obnoxious, loud that he wins every time just to shut him up!} Olivia needing "more mommy kiss." "More tuck in." "Pee a potty." Hayden needing to "watch" {watch Livi pee} & then needing "more daddy kiss." Then back to the light arguement.
By the way, when I told Hayden daddy was working in the bathroom, so a mommy kiss would have to do. He replied..."No. Mommy go working a baf-room. Daddy all done working. Daddy kiss."
And Liv had to argue, "No mommy work a ap-pital." {hospital} "Daddy work a baf-room."
Hayden, "No mommy work a baf-room."
Liv, "No mommy work a ap-pitallll!!!!!"
EVERYTHING has to be a fight. EVERYTHING!
Took a full hour before it was quiet in there.
Thought I'd vent about it while I {literally} wait for paint to dry!

Busy!
If you don't see anything on the blog for a while, here is why:
We are painting, cleaning, touching up our house. Why? We are going to sell it! {Well hopefully anyway!}
It was a goal of ours for 2012 & the 1st time home buyer market is good here right now. And interest rates are at 4%! Its a great time to buy & sell. Earlier than was our "grand plan"... but I'm learning grand plans, usually aren't so grand. So here we go. Ready or not!
Our agent wanted us to be ready to list in 2 weeks!!! We're hoping more like 4. So we'll be busy packing up clutter. Touching up paint. And patching holes. And finishing tile. And, and, and....
Anyone bored.... feel free to come over & grab a brush. Or watch the kids! Really, anyone?!
Wish us luck!!!!
P.S. Know anybody looking for a nice split-entry home in Gretna? Walking distance to parks, the pool, schools, grocery stores. Small town living right by the city!! Send them my way!!

"Silly bath"
So..... progress is a little slower than Jeff had hoped. But I think its looking great!!! Whenever you have your first time doing a project like this... add days into your time frame for all the unplanned trips to Lowes, Menards, etc. for things you forgot, different tiles, etc., etc., etc. 15 mins here, 20 mins there... adds up quick!
This side looks great!!

This side still looks a little rough!
In the meanwhile... Baths? Our 2nd bathroom just has a shower, which the kids are not a big fan of, so how do we clean them? One night Jeff did "baths" with a towel on the floor & an ice cream bucket of soapy water & an ice cream bucket of rinse water. He called it a "silly bath" & the kids got a kick out of it. After that, we dumped all the stuffed animals out of their storage container & turned it into this!! The kids call this a "silly bath" too & LOVE it!!

You'll never guess?
Guess who has a 2 year molar?
I can feel a sharp little edge through that right bottom gum!
You'll never guess??!!
Beena little snotty this week. Fighting going sleep hard. And yesterday there was so much drool I felt like I needed to get a bib back out. Some low grade 99.5 fever stuff, occasionally higher in the afternoons. Teeth? Allergies? Cold? Or all of the above?
For WEEKS I have been chalking sleeping habits, sticking everything in mouth habits, everything, up to probable swollen gums & pending molars. And I finally know I'm right!!!
Welcome to the molar club.... LOGAN! First time you beat Livi in something relating to teeth. I really didn't think you'd have them 'til you were 4!

Random pictures of recent goings ons:
Trying to learn to stand on one foot.
When I said "put your arms out to the side for balance" THIS is what I got?
When I said "can you stand on one foot?" THIS is what Hayden did! Quick thinking!! He literally put one foot on the other foot & stood on it.
Figured out later to try it this way {though he is cheating & holding the couch}
Made some YUMMO cookies! They are tricking Logan into eating Peanut Butter!!
And one of my eggs for the cookies... was a TWIN!!
And the bathroom.... the kids say "Daddy broke the bathroom!"
We have a new window!! Something we wanted to do when we bought the house in 2005!
While daddy worked... the kids & I played outside. Logan {or Napoleon Dynamite} was excited to go outside & got his own "shoes" on.
I made a yummy supper!
By Wednesday afternoon, we had walls again!!!
And thanks to Craigslist..... I got a great deal on a "pink one car." {Pay no attention to Liv's awesome face!} I have now gotten all 3 of these for the price of ONE new one!
Tonight..... tile layout!!!
81!!!
I just have to say, today was a beyond fantastic day to be staff adjusted at work. Its 81 degrees in Nebraska mid-March!! And you better believe the kids & I are outside barefooot!! {Jeff is slaving away in the bathroom!} SOO beyond ready for spring to stick around!! We were SO in need of some good ole' fresh air!
If this week is really all in the 70s, I'm gonna have to bust out the kids summer stuff from last year & see what still fits? I think a bunch of the boys' shorts will still fit. Their legs just got longer &their Hayden's belly got skinnier this past year. Their shorts were long last year I think, because of Hayden's big ole' belly he needed a bigger size (& I just couldn't make myself buy Logan's 2 sizes smaller!) But they'll need some new Ts. And I think Livi will need all new. Her legs just keep growing! The boys are more torso & she seems to be ALL LEGS! I bought a couple pair of leggings on sale at Walmart, just to have a few extra for potty accidents. I got a 3T so they'd be plenty big & there isn't anything too big about them!
Speaking of summer, last summer I tried to find a 3rd cozy coupe type car for the kiddos. They super, duper love them. I never was able to get one & already today I've broken up so many fights over the 2 we have!! So I'm in the market for a 3rd... if anyone has one to sell or stumbles across one for cheap!
Hope you all enjoyed a fantastic day!!

Spring Break project!
We have been talking about re-doing our main bath shower for a good year. And the window that was in there really needed to go! With our hopes of selling our house & moving before 2012's end, Jeff decided spring break week was the time to do it. {Last spring break was the basement project! Long gone are the days of South Padre ;) } Behind a closed door, he started drilling, sawing, hammering, prying, cursing, banging away, while the kiddos & I played. He came out & said "You really did want this done, right?"
Kinda late to say no now???
So I guess we are officially re-doing our bath! Wish us luck!
Wacky Wednesday
Last week we managed to squeek out a day where me, my mom & my sister Molly were all off. That NEVER happens. So we took advantage & spent the afternoon in Lincoln checking their Children's Museum!! It was almost empty there, infact when we first got there I think there were maybe 2 other kids in the whole place! We did all sorts of fun things & had a great time!
We drove a tractor
It had a big TV screen inside & you could push a button to choose if you were "planting" or "harvesting" & the TV screen looked like you were really driving through a field. Hayden was mesmerized!
We went shopping...
Played mail-man.
Worked in a Pizzeria!
We found some water, which is always a hit!
There were SO many vehicles to ride in/on. Hayden & Livi were all about it. Logan was "tair-ed" {scared}.
Airplane!
"Ohhh....ohhhh truck" {think the sound a firetruck makes}
Livi even got dressed for the part!
We drove a "mack truck" too!
And Logan, sat on mommy's lap but was still "tair-ed!"
We played trains.
Even Lee Lee got in on some action.
We ran, jumped, climbed, slid & crawled through tunnels. This was supposed to be a picture of me & Hayden, who obviously didn't cooperate.
But look what it caught. Check those pincurls out!! She was having SUCH a good hair day in that humid basement!!!
Good thing we brought Aunt Molly along. My butt was NOT crawling through those tunnels.
Much better ;)
It was a great time!!!
Afterwards we headed to the mall for an early supper & a trip to Claire's for the little girlies. Molly was getting Analiegh's ears pierced & I thought it would be a fun idea for the girls to do it together. Livi talked about "ear pretties" & knew it would "hurt like a shot." Actually, when we sat down for supper, she cried because she was mad she wanted "No supper, get ears pierced."
She very calmly sat on my lap. She was a little anxious about the gal coloring on her ears with the marker though.
She let out one screech with the poke, a total of probably 4 tears, & in one second, she was done.
She picked the pretty pink flowers.
Then it was Analeigh's turn!
When she was done Hayden said "Go-gun's turn!" To which Logan replied "No way!" So I asked Hayden, "Hayden's turn?" And he grunted & replied "No way!"
Livi wanted to see Lee Lee's pink pretties.
Smiles from my beautiful big girl!!!
