March of Dimes Time

0 comments
Its that time of year again to start thinking about the March of Dimes walk to support strong, healthy babies.  Because 1 in 8 babies is born too soon!  We MARCHED last year & had a fantastic time!  In my area, this year's walk is April 29.  If you are looking for a great place to donate to this year, or just can't figure out what to do with that tax return, right at the top of my blog is a link to donate.  You can't miss it!!  It will be there for at least the next 2 months leading up to the walk.  So please donate!  Or sign up to walk & raise money too.  If you can't donate now, please know that you can donate to the March of Dimes year round.

Why donate?
So that all moms....
...and all babies...
...have a long, healthy pregnancy.
So that all babies....
...big & small...
...those born sick...
...& those born too soon...
...that they all have the best chance...
...& the best technology.
That their toes grow bigger...
...that eyes shine brighter...
...that they grow stronger...
...every day.
That we provide the best...
...for our littlest.
That together...

...we make miracles happen.

When you support the March for Babies, you give hope to the more than half a million babies born too soon each year.  Every day, babies are born too soon or very sick. The money you donate helps fund research to find treatments and preventions. And it supports programs in your community that give moms the best chance of a healthy, full-term pregnancy.

So why donate to the March of Dimes?
Better question:  Why not?

What we've been up to this week

We are officially all off medications!  {Besides Olivia's inhaled steroid that she will be on all winter}
Still a little Logan coughing & nose running.  Just hoping his fever isn't back after 4 days off antibiotics this time.  Especially because they have to go back to daycare the end of this week.  Ugh.

Besides getting better, this is what we've been doing:

Organizing the cleaning supplies cabinet.
Wish I would have gotten a before picture.  This makes me smile!
Think he would have believed you 3 years ago if you told him this is how he would spend his Saturday nights??  Fixing Olivia's baby doll's hair.
He was thrilled I was documenting this!
However, after, HE had to get a picture of his work!
The kids broke the kitchen gate!!  We are officially a gateless house.  The kids have actually done fantastic staying out of cabinets.  Backing out of the kitchen when I say I'm opening the hot stove. {The reason we kept this gate up was the safety logistics of keeping 6 hands away from the oven & stove} The only downfall besides toys on the kitchen floor, is them standing right by the cabinet they know contains the box of fruit snacks & whining for more & more & more & more.....
 They all the sudden LOVE LOVE helping.  With everything!  They insist on throwing away their diapers.  Shutting doors.  "Helping" put groceries away.  And especially doing the dishes.  I can't wait until their "help" actually makes my job easier!
 Just make sure they don't slip the dirty spoons in the clean drawer!
 Hayden & Olivia love eating summer sausage, cheese & crackers.
 And I still love that Livi is eating them in these cute little things!
 Now if only Logan would eat!  Toast & waffles with only butter on them, eggs, fruit, yogurt, applesauce, fruit snacks, chips, peas, corn, Sargento sharp cheddar cheese sticks, and french fries.  And I think that is ALL he will eat.  Period.

Giving dolls & Elmo a bath in their little kitchen sink.  Where did they even learn this??
 Trying new recipies from Pinterest.  Crispy Cheddar Chicken & Balsalmic Potatoes.  I altered the potato recipe some, but this meal was AMAZING!!!
 Pepperoni Rolls.  {or Pizza Bread as the kids called it}  ALSO AMAZING!
Coming up with creative ways to be lazy while playing trains.
Hayden often REFUSES to wear pants.  Toddlers finding any way to proclaim their independence cracks me up {read:  makes me want to pull my hair out.}
 Improving the toy room.
Dreaming of how much I could get done during nap time if I was home 7 days a week, & with non-sick kids!

Aspiring to be like mommy & daddy.  She points to the words, gets excited & says "ABC's on there."
 Growing more hair!  Slowly but surely!

They have been ALL about singing lately.  Always wanting me to sing songs so they can do the actions.

Hayden's favorite is "Marching" {The ants to marching}
Olivia likes "ABCs" & "Uncle star" {Twinkle Twinkle Little Star}
Logan's favorite is the "Ba, B, C's" {ABCs}

MY favorite is 'If you happy & you know it clap your hands.'  You should see their actions when we sing "If you're tired & you know it close your eyes!"  I have 3 kiddos on the floor, eyes closed, pretend snoring.  God bless Elmo for teaching them this.  Olivia even does "If you're silly & you know it make a funny face!"  Hehe ;)

I have been trying to get them to count with me when they are in a singing mood too.  Its a time when I have their attention & they are into what we're doing.  They all can SAY the words from one to ten, repeat them after me.  But today we are 3, 4, 5 away from Olivia counting to 10 all by herself!  All day I heard "1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.  Yay!!"  {Yes she cheers for herself!}  Such a smartie-fartie!

On another note.  Wednesday, Hayden told me every time right after he wet his diaper & insisted on sitting on the potty afterwards.  He would sit there until he could squeeze out that last drop of pee (literally a drop!) even if it took him 5 minutes!  He would lean over looking between his legs & say "see it pee!"  Then jump up, grab the little potty seat & want to "Maas dump it out."  This week, all of the sudden, he has occasionally been hiding behind the living room curtains when he poops.  Yep, he is officially aware enough to have a "pooping spot!"  Toddlers are so funny!  So I'm thinking the potty training thing with him is going to creep up on us soon-ish too.  The pain in the butt thing about it, was that Olivia thought she had to go everytime Hayden went.  Add in that many more times of her completely undressing & re-dressing.  That many more times of washing potties because he & she peed a cumulative of 7 drops.  That many more times of all 3 kids having to wash their hands.  That many more toys ending up in the bathroom because Logan {car hoarder} brought them in, because he of course has to come in & watch too.  After today, I've decided the boys can wear diapers until they are 10!  He also today has a awful painful looking, red, bumpy, yeasty butt {hello- how many days post antibiotics is he!  I thought he was in the clear.}  So maybe that was today's cause of his instant requests of wet diaper changes?

Analeigh's Baptism

We {our kids} have a habit of being in the hospital for the baptism of our Goddaughters!

We we not able to make it to Adelyn's baptism because the kiddos were in the NICU.  {We weren't able to make it to Ava's baptism either because of work schedules.} And we almost didn't make it to Analeigh's baptism either.  Her baptism was scheduled for 3 weeks ago, when Olivia was in the hospital.  Luckily Molly was able to reschedule last minute & we were able to join in the celebration this past Sunday!

There was already a baptism scheduled for that Sunday, so LeeLee got to share the special day.  And as it turned out, the little boy Henry getting baptised with Analeigh, is her {and my kids'} 3rd cousin!!  What a fun coincidence.

We brough lots of things to entertain our kiddos at Church.  And though we didn't hear a word of the sermon & were all sweating by the time it was done, everyone else in Church though they were very well behaved.  Going out to eat afterwards, was a bit of a different story.  The boys were cranky, cranky!  Olivia sat & ate very nicely.  Asking WAY to much of still "post-sick" {or in Logan's case still sorta-sick} cranky 2 year olds sitting nice that long all while getting into their naptime.  {And Olivia did the day in a pull-up.  Peed at Church & at the resturant.  No accidents!}

My pictures from the day all seem sort of blurry.  Church lighting never makes for the best shots for me.  But here is my pictures from the day & some of Molly's stolen from Facebook.

Was terrified for how it would go when Jeff & I had to go up to the front of the church.  We snuck off quick, grandma GG got out some new toys & luckily they didn't notice until the last minute!

 The best I could get of my kiddos afterwards!  Ha!!
