#2 falls off the pink bubblegum bandwagon....

I have become that person who is CONSTANTLY calling the pediatrician.  UGH!  I'm officially that person with the kids who are constantly sick.  UGH!  Ok to be fair, I do have post-preemies who had RSV & are still recovering.  And I do have THREE of them.  And its just been 3.5 weeks, not like years.... but I'm getting so tired of leaving messages for the nurse.  They probably have me on speed dial!

Incase you are speculating, YES, I had to call them again today.

Hayden is on day 9 of 10 of antibiotics for his ear infection.  And today he woke up with hives on his legs & a light rash over his belly.  He is apparently allergic to Augmentin, which is a combination drug, so he could be allergic to the Amoxicillin part, or something else I guess.  {I just automatically think Amox, because of Logan.}  If I remember right, Hayden has taken Amoxicillin once before, but they say its common to have your reaction your second exposure to the medicaiton.  Either way, he's allergic to something in it.  Dr. Harrison is out of the office on Fridays, so I just talked with the nurse & they consulted a partner in the office, so I'll just let it be at that & discuss it more next time I see him (which is hopefully not anytime soon!)

Its pretty mild.  NOTHING like what Logan looked like last year.  His legs this afternoon look fairly similar to how Logan's legs looked.  The difference is Logan's legs were his best looking spot, & its {so far} Hayden's worst.  But an allergic reaction none the less.  Had he not peed through his PJs last night & been running around in a diaper, we might not have noticed right away.  So hopefully we caught it early & a day or 2 of Benadryl will do the trick!  I really don't want to wake up tomorrow to THIS!

Since his ears looked good yesterday & we were almost done with the antibiotics, we are just stopping them.  Hopefully we don't have a return of ear infection for him!!

Benadryl every 6 hours.  And hydrocortisone cream on his legs, since I've seen him itch them a few times.

And I officially have 2 kids with antibiotic allergies!
