Big day.
Ran some errands with the kids. Their 1st day going somewhere out of the house {besides to go to the doctor} since January 25, when all this RSV sickness BS started. Baby steps to returning to a normal life!
We went to Shopko to pick up Livi's pink glasses. Decided to keep them as a spare pair & just finally got them picked up. Whats so exciting about this trip? We did it stroller/cart-less! Yep my first solo trip with 3 walking kids. I knew we wouldn't be standing in line to pay, just picking up glasses, so I figured it would be a good choice of trip to try it. We used our backpacks. I made the kids hold hands {which they did very well outside, not always inside}. But it went well. They held hands in a row, as I followed with my "leashes" in hand & we walked through the parking lot... they were so darn cute. {Though it made me feel a bit like a professional dog walker!} We walked a lap or 2 around the store just for practice & it actually went really well. Standing in line to pay would have been a challenge though. But I'm proud we did it!!! Baby steps to stroller independence!
We ran some other errands too. And were out & about for almost 3 hours. We stopped at one store to put Livi on the potty {but she didn't pee.} It was a production. Pushed a cart into the bathroom & took the whole darn thing into the handicapped restroom. {Can't imagine the things the boys would have gotten into had they had freedom?} And I had to totally strip her down, shoes & all to get her legs wide enough for that potty. Ugh. But we tried & no one fell in! She did pee at home before we left & again when we got home. A big, long day of errands without an accident {Though I did kind of chicken out & go with her in a pull-up because the thought of a cart full of groceries, 2 ornery boys & an accident made me cringe! Baby steps.}
