20 months... that means just 4 more months until we are TWO! Yes that sounds absolutely insane. TWO! Twenty months. Neither are a concept I can really grasp. They are just growing up way, way, way too fast!
As time is flying by right before my eyes, I am trying to hold on to the concept that "Your kids won't be young long, but the dishes & laundry aren't going anywhere." As evidenced by this pile of laundry that all needs to be folded & put away. Now add to that the 5 remaining loads in the basement & the endless clutter of toys in the basement, and you can see we are having a great summer, its just going by very quickly!

At 20 months:
We are still sleeping about 12 hours at night. 8/8:30pm-8/8:30am. And for this, mommy & daddy are very thankful! We take one nap, usually after lunch around 1/1:30. Usually its about 2 hours long. If we nap earlier than that, evenings get kind of crabby. Hayden sleeps snuggling with a blankie. He much prefers a blankie to a lovie. Any blankie will do, so far he doesn't have a favorite. He snuggles with it & often sticks a corner in his mouth to suck/chew on. Livi has to have a "baby" & a lovie to sleep. In fact I think right now there are 3 babies in her bed? We often find her sleeping on her back with both hands behind her head as if she is dreaming of laying out on a beach somewhere. Logan usually is on his tummy. He likes his lovie & likes to curl up with it on his pillow pet & get all snuggled in tight with a blankie on top. He also usually takes a car to bed with him, and on the off day when he doesn't, he freaks out in the morning because he can't find it & you can't drag him out of their bedroom until he finds the car he thinks he had.
Hayden is still a great eater. He will try almost anything & eats a good variety of foods. Logan is still a picky eater. We are thankful he eats eggs each morning for protein, because meat of any kind is still a no-go for him (unless you count chicken nuggets, which he loves). Livi, 9 days out of 10, falls somewhere in the middle. She is not usually a big breakfast eater like the boys though. She would rather just have 2 glasses of milk. Logan also eats with a car, and often loads them up with food along the way.
We are still working on learning body parts. I think Olivia pretty much has them all down. We learned tongue the other day, that was funny! Hayden is making progress. Head, hair, ears, nose, fingers, hands, foot, toes, belly... what else? He always has to make sure he points out both ears. Logan I think knows all the ones that Hayden does... but he really isn't interested in showing his knowledge off, so I'm not completely sure.
Livi is our biggest talker & is handing out new words left & right this past week or so. The newest one is "choo-choo!" Hayden is working on new words too. He tends to do a lot of immitating what Olivia says so I'm not all sure what are new "words" for him vs just immatation of his sister. And Logan, he will catch up talking one of these days.
We are trying to work on learning animal sounds, but not making too much progress. We enjoy looking at books listening to mommy & daddy name animals & make sounds, sometimes giggling at the noises. Olivia knows puppy, horsie, bunny, cow & duck. Logan knows puppy & horsie. Hayden knows puppy & horsie. See, we haven't gotten too far.
Rather than learning animal sounds, they have found other sounds they find amusing. Sounds I thought I had a few years before I heard, followed by giggles. Yep, you guessed it. Farts & burps! Gross! Logan quite enjoys tooting, often lifting a leg to really "showcase" his talents. Has to smile or giggle each time & make sure everyone else in the room noticed what he did. They have also all 3 figured out how to make a fake burp noise. Where do they learn this stuff?!? They find it quite hillarious to sit around together, farting, burping & laughing away. Preview of the teenage years....
We have made a little progress with our strange phobias of vacuums & blow-driers. I can now (if given the time) blowdry my hair without blood curdling screams from the choir. We can have the vacuum out of the closet, on occasion they will even touch it. But don't dare turn it on!!
I think we are all teething. Livi's bottom right eye tooth is through, the left one is coming. Logan is drooling again this week so I'm guessing his eye teeth are coming too. And Hayden is drool city, so not sure what he is working on, but something.

We ABSOLUTELY LOVE summer & playing outside. Makes me a little nervous for winter to come! They know they have to wear sunscreen to play outside & Hayden (who at one point was terrified of the spray sunscreen) even walks around with the spray can of sunscreen waving it infront of us as if to put sunscreen on us too!
Our climbing habit continues. Our tantrums are hit or miss. There has been no more biting, to my knowledge. Livi now whines in the carseat, in most cases, as opposed to screaming bloody murder. So while not a 100% fix, its an improvement.
I think thats all thats new with us?!
Logan
Olivia
SO BEAUTIFUL!
Airplane! (His eyes are So blue!)
Sidewalk chalk
We love to swing!
Silly Hayden
Liv
Logan
Livi almost never gets to drive one of the cars, the boys hog them!
On this day, she basked in her driving glory.... while the boys did this! It got pretty brutal!
One afternoon we went to help our friends celebrate their birthdays. Mason turned 3 & Grant turned 1! We had a great time!
It was a HOT afternoon & there were all sorts of water activities set up to play with at the party. We SO will be needing one of these in the future!
Hayden just prefered to drive & watch.
Logan & Livi swam & swam
They took a break to drive & decorate some cookies
Then it was back to the slide! Livi is a slide maniac.
Yes, she even did the big slide. A number of times. And yes it is as tall as it looks. I had to stand on my tippy-toes to get her up there. She went down, splashed at the bottom, went under water, got up & wanted to go again. Danger-woman!
