3 year well visit!

I braved a well visit by myself folks!  I did it!  And we rocked!  The kids did so, so awesome!  Dr. Fran said probably 25 times that they did so well its hard to believe they are the same kids that were so terrified of doctors as babes.  They sat still while he listened & looked.  Stood up big & tall to get weighed & measured.  All but Hayden said "ah" so he could look in mouths.  Our only tears were Hayden not appreciating him looking at his "diaper" rash that won't go away & getting the flu mist vaccine "shoved" up his nose.  Beyond that they chatted with Dr. Fran.  Called him by name.  They did some vision screening exams that they wore glasses for & Logan did awesome pointing out shapes & letters to the nurses.  Hayden & Olivia 1/2 cooperated, but were more shy.  I was so impressed.  The appointment was long.... and got drug out longer because the kids wanted potty breaks mid-way through, so Dr. Fran went to see another patient in between (we're along potty stop group!)  So thank goodness I had packed some crackers & fruit snacks to keep them occupied!

No real issues to report.
Liv had some fluid behind one ear.... but we are recovering from some respiratory crud.
We are doing some extra vitamin D with them this winter, as I heard some research about vitamin Ds role in allergies & asthma.  Dr. Fran thought it was a great idea.
We have noticed Hayden sometimes tends to walk on his toes, something we need to pay attention to given his sacral dimple.
Logan's umbilical hernia is still slightly open, but small.
He mentioned the size of Logan & Livi's tonsils.  (still wish we coulda just yanked them all the same day)
Outside of the boys not pedaling trikes & not knowing how old they are, (ask them & they tell you their name not their age) I think we were doing all of the milestones they asked about today.

And because they behaved so well, we treated outselves to some french fries for lunch afterwards!

Our 3 year stats are:

Hayden
36 lbs 9.6 oz (90%)
38 in (58%)

Olivia
31 lbs (55%)
37.5 in (56.5%)

Logan
29 lbs 6.4 oz (26%)
36.25 in (17%)

And just because he looked it up, on their corrected age growth chart for prematurity they were like 95%, 75% & 50% respectively for weight.  Hard sometimes to remember how small they really started...

OOps!

Jeff said "the quickest way to depreciate the value of your house is to paint a pink wall."

OOPS!!

I am almost done with the boys' room.  Just a few more little things to do before its all done & ready for Santa to bring the finishing touches.  I needed to get going on Livi's (plus I needed a break from all the boy business).  So project #3 is officially underway....

Livi today said...
"yes please" & "no thank you"

....ah.... school!  Thank you ;)

Speaking of school, I love how kids analyze things at this age.
She also said, "when we go in that other room & talk about letters & say 'ah-ah-ah-ah' then daddy comes to pick us up."  The letter of the week last week was A.  They go to different rooms for activities in the afternoon after snack & thats when Jeff picks them up.  Too smart to put all this schedule business together.  Then she says "and when you are done working on the babies, you will come home & seem me a little bit.  I love it when you see me mom."

They are doing better & better with this transition.
Everybody has taken their jackets off the past 2 days, and we're sending the boys in panties (& they come home accidentless!)

Speaking of.... Logan pooped in the potty today!  {Someday we'll be 100% done.  Potty training really is a lifestyle, not a task.}

We had a PaRtY!!!

A BIRTHDAY PARTY....
...or um, a Huskers pulled of a last second victory as the kids were opening presents party
We had a lot of yummy food!
And WAY too many yummy sweets!!
That the kids HAD to dig into before the party even started!
Tractors & Tiaras.  This is about as creative as I got this year.
Oh & some Hello Kitty, just because ;)
Year #3 we had BEAUTIFUL weather here in November.  Last week we bought winter coats because we had snow flurries, this weekend it was probably 60!
Presents!!!!!
This is my FAVORITE picture of the day!!  His face is priceless!  Buzz Lightyear has officially entered our lives!
And singing Happy Birthday!
Hayden isn't a fan of cupcakes so we made rice crispy treats.  However he wasn't a big fan of candles apparently either.
He did come blow them out though.  And he did eat a cupcake with the frosting cut off.  He really tried to like the whole thing, he would lick the frosting & just shutter.  Poor guy.
Logan blowing his candles out.
My princess & her pink princess cake!

I can't believe my babies are almost THREE!!!

Trick-or-Treat '12

Our 1st REAL Trick-or-Treat outing!
The weather was pretty nice.  And after our old Halloween ba-humbug neighborhood, we had no idea what we were instore for.  Fog machines, bonfires, strobe lights, "bodies" in yards.  Looking down that back street there was as much of a crowd as the zoo!  Unbelievable!!

Our little cow-pokes before hitting the trick-or-treat beat!
 Logan, Olivia & Hayden
Hayden taking off down the street to house #2.  House 1 was THAT big of a hit!  He was so into it at the begining.  Ran so he could be the 1st to ring the doorbell (& ring it 15 times!)  Livi was "done" after about 4 houses.  She wanted to go home because "if we don't go home, we can't eat our candy guys."
About house 10 they actually got the hang of saying "Trick-or-Treat!"  And said lots of "Thank Yous" too!
 Their loot!!
 "Don't eat my candy mom!!!"
 Happy Hallowee 2012!!
