The PRINCESS Room!

Outside of a spot or 2 of paint touch up & printing pictures to fill the frames... its done!  Phew!  Took way, way longer than I anticipated, but I am absolutely in love with the results.  I'm pretty proud of this one!

Before any painting began, it was plain, white, boring.  Make mental note of the little white dresser & little lamps in this picture, they all get an upgrade too.
Other wall before, and a glimpse of the awesome ceiling lights that are all over our house.
 Closet before.

During...
First 3 walls & the closet got a fresh coat of a pale grey & one wall got a bright raspberry pink color.
Then came the entire day of stenciling.
But it turned out pretty awesome!
And a new ceiling fan, whose butterfly accents ended up as inspiration throughout the project.
Stumbled across some matching fabric & some must have curtain rods & clips.  Butterflies!

And viola!  The after!!
We painted an old bedroom set & additional dresser in white.
Love how the dresser turned out!  Some painted $3 Walmart picture frames & DIY art.  Can you see the butterflies on the wall too?  And a board to hold all her school art projects as well.
After 2 coats of white paint, I put a piece of lace across the dresser drawers & spray painted over them to give this stencil effect.  Super easy & turned out pretty cool.  Plus some awesome drawer pulls on her dressers found 1/2 off at Hobby Lobby.
Some old picture frames pulled out of a box got some pink ribbon to spruce them up.
The other side has her Barbie house, bookshelf & toy storage.
Can you see her closet door knob?  I'm spray painting all the gold knobs oil rubbed bronze.  And I'm going to invest in some ORB hinges too eventually.
 Lamp!
And welcome to her closet.  She is going to LOVE this space in about 12 years.
Dresser.  Fits like a glove, so well it looks like a built in.
Some bankers boxes & cute duck tape made some cute places to store too big & too small clothes.  Those diaper boxes are going to get painted or fixed up somehow yet too for storage.
A mirror got some pink paint so we are ahead of the game before she gets old enough to fight her brothers for bathroom time.
A ballerina bow holder, again Hobby Lobby.  Love that place!
Some Hello Kitty bins from the $1 section at Target & some old oatmeal containers covered with scrapbook paper & mod podge, hot glued onto cheap Walmart candle holders make some pretty cute hair accessory holders!
And what else, but Hello Kitty wrapping paper to line all her drawers.
 The other side holds her clothes & shoes.  {And the top shelf is still a mess of stuff I have no where else to put at the moment.}
And the bottom has a hamper & baby doll stuff.
 I think I did pretty good :)
I think she likes it too!
And so do the boys!  Ha, caught them playing Barbies!

One last look, before...

Thursday...
We spent the morning cleaning out closets.  Lots of too small shorts, socks, shoes & undies to pack away.  Trying on some of the new summer stuff I bought & making a list of need-to-buys for summer essentials.  Logan can wear a lot of Hayden's clothes from last year.  Sad to be that much littler than your 3-minute-older-brother.  I feel a little guilty, but at least its mostly just play clothes to get dirty in.  And it's nice on the wallet!

When the kids went down for a nap, I took out the trash & realized how beautiful it was outside!  So when the kids woke up, we took the laundry outside & folded it there.  Nothing like folding laundry at 4:45, outside, still in our PJs!!  We are awesome like that!

We spent the evening getting some things put together to finish Livi's room once.  We are ALMOST there.  Pictures to come soon-ish.  (Remember when I thought I'd be done by Christmas.... ha!)  I'm so excited to have it done!  As much as I love the boys' room, I love hers more!  And her closet is giving me a little motivation to do some organizing in the boys' closet too.

I want to get her room, the boys' closet, the office & the toy room rapped up shortly so we can switch our efforts to the outside this summer.

Easter Weekend 2013

More Easter!

Saturday morning the kids woke up to candy & gifts from the Easter Bunny!
It had rained.... so we had to hunt eggs in the house.
They wasted no time digging into the candy for "breakfast"

They got this close a lot to seeing what the Easter Bunny brought them...
Finally they came around the corner.  BIKES!

Then we went to my work for a OB department nurses' kids' egg hunt.
Yep, mine were the only 3 running around with buckets on their heads.  We're special!
 Ready... set... GO!
Digging into our findings with our friends.

Then after some naps, we spent the afternoon outside.  Practiced on our bikes.  The boys both tried once, for like 6 seconds.  Couldn't figure out how to pedal & gave up.  Olivia tried & tried.  If you put her training wheels up on wood blocks so the back wheel spins freely & she is stationary, she can pedal ok.  She at least gets the idea.  But she can't do it hard enough to make the bike move just yet.

Then Sunday, we headed off to Great G-ma & G-pa's house.
Well, after mommy took a few pictures we went.
Yummy Lunch!
Logan, Analeigh, Olivia & Hayden.  Always an interesting task getting their picture.   I NEVER actually get a picture with Olivia smiling.  This is priceless!
{What it really looked like....}
Our family
Then we headed out to hunt Easter Eggs in the hilly pasture!
Ready...set... GO!
We made it to the top again this year.
It was so nice out. I can't believe it.  I actually got a little sun on my face.  Then overnight, it snowed.  Yep, snowed.  Happy April Fools to us!
"Don't eat my candy!"
Then there was an awesome game of Duck, Duck Goose!
Which apparently was a lot of hard work!

Duck, duck goose in the pasture to burn off all that sugar :)

Then we headed back to G-ma & G-pas for some dinner/snacks/desserts & a little playing outside before baths & a quiet ride home.

Olivia can pedal the big wheel!

Even Logan figured it out a little. Guess I should have gotten big wheels rather than bikes!

Hope you all had a fantastic holiday weekend & got to spend some time with the ones you love the most!
