Memorial Weekend

I've worked almost 44 hours in the past 5 days, a couple 14 hour days & I'm working another 12 today.  So I'm officially beat.  56 hours in 6 days is too, too many!  I'm behind a bit in life in general, not just the blog.

But, here is a recap of our Memorial Day Weekend.

Tisha, Aaron & their girls came up to visit us & visit the girls' birth family.  So we saw them days on & off a couple of times that week before Memorial Weekend.  Then we spent Memorial Weekend at Jeff's parent's house for a wedding.  Not a lot of relaxing, but a break away from reality for a couple of days.

On Tuesday before Memorial Weekend we hit up the zoo.
 Watching butterflies hatch.
Touching starfish.  Only the girls wanted to touch.
This yellow/orange thing.... is alive. Its not a plant, its a creature of some sort.  Too cool.
One of my favorites is the big turtles!
The kids love the sting rays.
Check out those teeth swimming overhead.  EEK!
Oh Addie, you are something else :)  Quite the little personality.
Face-to-face with an alligator!!!
It was a cool day outside, much different than our last trip.  The gorillas were super active.
The closest thing to a group picture I think I got :)  Just a couple minutes after this, when we were walking away, a gorilla banged on the glass.  How many sets of peed in pants do you think we'd of had if we'd still been sitting there?
 Feeding the fishies
Begging Aunt Tisha for more fish food... paid for in kisses!
It was a long, super fun, but exhausting day!!

The rest of the week was business as usual.  Then we headed to Jeff's parents Friday night for a wedding on Saturday.

Hayden is so much bigger than Logan (& Livi).  His clothes are a size bigger & his shoes 2 -3 sizes bigger.  I think most of the time to people who don't really know them, or even when looking at most pictures, its not that apparent how different their size really is. But this picture makes it soo clear the size difference between their 2 builds. Thats what 10 pounds & a solid 2 inches looks like.
We do actually clean up pretty well!

The kids had their own row, the very back row in church.  The perfect place for them.  They behaved about as well as you could expect 4 3.5 year olds &  1.5 year old to behave in church.  The wedding was beautiful, and short & sweet, so that helped our cause a lot.
Blowing bubbles after the wedding.  Seriously, whoever decided to start handing out bubbles after weddings was brilliant!  They helped us survive all the in between wedding & dancing hours.  I honestly might just order a big old case of these from Oriental Trading Company & stash them in my purse, car, etc for anytime I need them occupied.
Hayden, Livi & Logan all were able to blow bubbles themselves.  There was occasionally a wand brought too close to someones lip, that resulted in spitting out of the bubbles.  And on one occasion, Logan after touching the wand to his lips, actually blew a bubble ON his mouth!  Wish I could have got that on camera.  But what a great new skill to have!!  Bubble blowing!
Messing around with my phone, trying to keep out of trouble during the dinner.  The food was so, so yummy.
Watching the bigger kids play games.
And EATING CAKE!  This is exactly what I would like to do with wedding cake too!  YUM!!
 Finger licking good :)
Logan was obsessed with the tractor grooms cake.  I'm not sure if they ever did cut it, but it was meltdown mode when Logan found out he couldn't eat it.
Then we drove around a bit, for the kids to get in some evening naps.  By this point it was already their bedtime.

When we got back, it took a little encouraging, but we got Livi out on the dance floor.
Addie & Ava taught her some moves.
And the boys sat around like party poopers.
Addie taught her some more moves...
Logan tried to join the party.
But he was SOO tired.  He sat there in a half sleeping/daze from the DJ's lights.
And he spent the rest of the evening bouncing lap, to lap, snuggling & dozing on & off.
Hayden did the same.
While the girls danced & danced & danced.  She never.sat.down!
 She danced with dad.
Then our shy little peanut, went & grabbed her Uncle J's hand & drug him out on to the dance floor!  I was shocked.  One, at her.  And two, Uncle J won't even dance with Aunt Becky.  Liv must be pretty special!  She drug him out there a time or 2 more before the night was over.
She also drug her Uncle Aaron out to dance.  She was a party animal!!!
The night ended up with Grandpa holding the bride's sister's baby, so she could do some dancing & so the mother of the bride could too.  Livi was ALL over this.  Shortly there after, baby Amberlin's grandma came to get her because she saw Liv & felt bad, worried that Livi was jealous & wanted her grandpa's lap.  It was however, exactly the opposite.  She didn't leave grandpa's side as long as he had that baby.  She was all hugs & cuddles & kisses all over her.  A little mother hen this one :)

We came home Monday early afternoon.  Did some yardwork, played in the sprinkler & played some T-ball.  They are all getting it down prety well how to hit off the T.
Hayden
Olivia
Logan.
Yes, he bats left handed.  He can do it both ways actually, but he seems to hit better & further left handed.  He writes right handed & throws right handed.
And then there is this :)
Good thing we have a privacy fence!  Just drop your drawers & pee in the yard Logan.  Kind of nice actually, instead of dragging all those wet, grass covered feet through the house.  As long as he knows not to do it in public, like say, at the zoo?!
