Cousins!

The kids & I spent quite a bit of time up at the hospital visiting Molly & Analeigh today.  They are both doing fantastic!

Just time to share one quick picture, the best I could get of the 4 of them together at the end of a long day.  Now, off to bed so I can work tomorrow.... and I promise there will be more pictures to come.

Trunk or Treat!

0 comments
We took the kiddos to their first (and probably only) Halloween event for the year.  Just too busy & too young to do much else.  This was a trunk-or-treat event at our church.  There was quite a good turn out of kids & trunks!  We came home with a pretty good stash.

When they know we are going "bye-bye" its quite difficult to get pictures.  So this is the best I could get of them in costume before... and I don't have one of Logan.  Busy bodies!  They are all Elmo this year!
 {Still need to get her glasses fixed from Monday!  Its not an easy fix kind of break though.}
Heading to the "white vana" {as Livi would call the van} to head to church.  We've been working on colors & she has quite a few of them down.

It took them a few trunks to figure out what was going on.  They wanted to immediately stop & open the first few things we got.  But they got the hang of hoarding their loot pretty quick.  We weren't able to get any of the kids to say "trick-or-treat."  And they were so in awe of all the people, costumes & decorated car trunks, we really weren't able to get them to say please or thank you either.  Logan just said "MORE!  MORE!"  {Nice, huh?}  And towards the end Hayden waved & said "bye-bye" to every trunk we visited.

It was a cool evening, so we were glad our costumes were warm!  The kids even wore little gloves (& actually kept them on!  Though we lost one of Liv's somewhere in the van on the ride home.)  They quite enjoyed looking through their little bags of treasures; candy, pencils, glow sticks, bubbles.  They did a good job reaching into bowls of treats & just picking ONE thing (which is hard to do with gloves on little fingers let alone understand that concept at the age of not-quite-2!)  Hayden even sometimes dug through the bowl looking for just the right treat to pick.

There were alot of people & they had the trunks arranged so that you just followed a path around.  So they just stayed in their wagon seats & it worked out just fine!  One little boy came up & asked if their costume was "The Elmo Train," I guess he was 100% right!
 Checking out their loot.  Good view of their Elmo hats GG made for us!

We hope you all have a fantastic, spooky & safe Halloween!

Analeigh Elizabeth.  My newest niece!!

Born Wednesday October 26, 2011 at 12:20am

29 hours after Molly's induction began, Baby LeeLee was born via c-section, as her cord was wrapped around her neck & preventing her from coming down into the birth canal & preventing a now exhausted Molly from dilating past 9cm.

Grandma GG was working, so she got to peek in through the window.

And I got to be a part of a c-section from another perspective.  I've been the nurse & the patient, now I've been the coach {AKA photographer}.

Our first glimpse....
Look at those lips!!
 Snuggles & kisses with Mama for first time.

She weighed 8lbs exactly (the same as her mama weighed at birth!)

And was 21 1/4 inches long.

And she has tons of beautiful, dark hair under that hat.  She was so awake & alert for the first few hours.  Poor Molly, not so much :)

I am in love!  I'm so glad I got to be a part of their special day!
"Mama" snuck away from work again for some cuddle time.
Isn't she beautiful??!!

Hows the bed thing going?

As other friends of mine debate moving their kids to toddler beds.  And other multiples mommy friends have had their first crib escapees as of late.  As some friends rave about crib tents.  And others sit quietly due to the sleepless exhaustion that a toddler bed transition has brought to their house.  Others sit praying their day of decision is still far away.  I sit & reflect on where we stand.

It has been 3 weeks now since my trio has been in toddler beds.  And I still just can't believe how easy it all was for us.  I'd like to talk myself up & type up some big "How to," on conquring toddler beds with triplets, but I can't.  Because honestly its all them.  I've done nothing (other than what I've seen on Super Nanny!).  They were just ready & I still couldn't be prouder!

They give us no trouble going down for bedtime or naptime.  Their sleep habits have stayed exactly the same.  I would say once in a random 10 days, the are up early.  Say 7:30 vs their normal 8:30.  {But I don't think anyone can complain about a 2 year old waking up at 7:30.}  I'm dreading the day they learn to open door knobs, as that will change things.  But I'm not against putting a childproof doorknob cover inside their room {infact I have a few packages for our house purchased & waiting...}.  Then we'll just see how quickly the 3 of them can break it!

There are books, toys, blankies & lovies scattered all about their room every morning & all day, everyday.  Their little fingers manage to pull things out of their dresser drawers, despite them being latched.  Though most of the time they put it all back in, just in the wrong spot.  I am eternally finding lone socks stuck in heaven knows what other drawer.  Good thing socks are cheap!  Their diaper genie is always tipped over (it needs a new home just not sure where to put it.)  But its become THEIR room & they quite love it.

We have had a bit of a struggle having given them the freedom to play in their room... with lovies.  They love them!  And now they have full access to them.  And I'm not against letting them have them outside of bed if needed.  But I am against them at the table, in the dirt, and I am hugely against them becoming so dependent on them that they cry at home, while I'm home, while playing... because they can't find their lovie.  It got pretty out of control for about a week (pre-flu), so now (post-flu) I'm in the process of putting a stop to it.  Lovies, while at home, are only for in bed (or if sick or hurt).  Period.  So far all I've had to do is remind them in the morning that their lovies have to stay "nigh-nigh" & occasionally throughout the day remind them & make them put them back in bed.  Tell them if they want their lovie, they have to go lay down in bed.  And so far, just one Logan meltdown over the ordeal.  {But he's in a bit of an over-dramatic, tantrum throwing, can't share anything, constantly pushing the limits type of phase right now}

The only other "issue" I'm trying to resolve is finding time for me to shower.  In cribs, when the kids woke up in the morning, they would lay happily in bed & chat for a long time.  Like 30-60 minutes before they demanded to be up.  That was my time to shower & prepare for the day.  Now.... I don't get that.  When they are up, they are up & ready to roll!  So its noon before my thoughts are collected enough to shower lots of days.  And by then, its time for lunch & naps.  Our mornings are shot.  Its 3:30 before we can do anything & by then the day more than 1/2 over.  They won't sit nice & watch TV if I'm in the bathroom, tried it.  So I've been locking them in the bathroom with me & showering with the curtain half open, so I know they aren't out destrying things.  I get about 7 minutes before they can't take it anymore.  Thats our temporary solution.  Its a work in progress...

While I understand with kids, everything is temporary.  And our time for sleep disasters may still be lurking around the corner, I'm all for celebrating the present & if that's the worst of it, we're pretty lucky.  We have 3 pretty amazing kids!

My birthday take two!

Today I got a chance to celebrate my birthday with my family.  The kids & I had a lazy morning.  Played outside a little.  And spent the afternoon just the way I have always dreamed.... at a CARS adventure!

CARS {as in the kiddie movie} had a display sponsored by State Farm in Lincoln this afternoon.  Life size version of my kids' heros!  What else could a mama have asked for for her birthday? {besides a tropical vacation or a spa package}

So Jeff, I & the kids spent the afternoon hanging with "mama," "bebe," Lightning McQueen & Mater, getting some cool free stuff.  (Olivia called Molly "bebe" all day.  I'm guessing because we talk about Baby Lele in Molly's belly??)  And though I'd still graciously accept that spa package, the kids had a one of a kind afternoon & that makes my heart happy.  Their excitement, smiles & kisses were the best gifts I could ask for, so all-in-all a wonderful birthday.

They were excited in the parking lot when we saw Mac with a picture of all the CARS characters on the side.  They had no idea what they were in store for inside!

We got there early & got to look around & take pictures before the line even started forming.  Then we were probably the 20th group in line.  The kids got to play in the mall play area a little while GG held our place in line.  By the time we got through getting our stuff, the line was LONG!  Like so long the kids would definately not have tolerated waiting long.  I'm so glad we got there early!

Driving the bus while we waited...
Livi broke her new glasses yet again.  Tried unsuccessfully to get them fixed at a place in the mall.
 So excited!!  And yes they are all wearing CARS shirts!!
 The car we don't know (because we haven't seen CARS 2) & "May May" {Mater}
 Mater!!
 Lightning McQueen!!   "VROOOMMM......!"

It was almost like trick-or-treating.  We got CARS bags.  Coloring books.  Crayons.  Stickers.  Pencils.  Keychains.  Bag tags.  The list goes on.  All CARS!!

Since the display was at the mall, we also got to ride the carousel!!  Hayden & Olivia have loved it every time they've ridden.  Logan is finally getting there.  The first time he rode at the fair this summer, we had to hold him.  He wouldn't sit on an animal.  Last time he rode at the mall, he rode on a horse... but it was one that didn't go up & down.  This time... he rode for real!  Took him 'til the end to not have that "I'm not so sure about this" look on his face.  But he did it!!  {How he's transitioned into being our biggest chicken is beyond me?}

 GG & Hayden.  He grinned like this the entire time!
Action shot... It goes fast!!
 Olivia (& Molly's arm)  Molly & baby were pretty smashed between the 2 horses ;)
 Mama & Logan

Afterwards, my brothers met up with us for dinner.  So we were all together for a very filling meal at Valentino's Buffet!  Yum!  Hayden & Olivia honestly ate as much as I did.  You don't believe me, but its true.  I know Hayden had 2 pieces of pizza.  A breadstick.  Pasta.  Noodle salad.  A whole slice of watermelon.  Grapes.  And he desserted on 2 cinnamon breadsticks & a few bites of GG's ice cream.  Livi finished off her (almost as large as Hayden's) meal, by eating an entire bowl of ice cream by herself (she scooped it with the spoon & all.  And manage to keep her shirt almost entirely clean!)   Logan picked around a little.  Was pretty ornery.  Ate a breadstick.  And ate daddy's ice cream out of his ice cream cone with a spoon!  Silly boy.  But still overall they behaved very well.  Its been a long time since we have all got together & went out to eat!  (Should have taken a picture of all of us!)

Now less than 3 weeks until THEIR birthday!  {I vow to get the boys & myself haircuts before then, we look kinda shabby!}

Today I officially entered the last year in my 20s.
I'm the big 29.  Hoorah!  Meaning 30 will come around next year.  Yikes!  {Sounds about as crazy as my kids turning 2!}

It was my weekend to work.  So I got up early.  Headed off to work.  {I managed to trade to get the kids' birthday weekend off because it fell on my weekend too.  Too much work trying to trade both of my weekends!}  By 10:30am the gals had figured out it was my birthday (by randomly reading the monthly meeting minutes.)  My beautiful co-workers then proceeded to buy me lunch, and bring me in surprise cupcakes while singing "Happy Birthday!"  So incredibly sweet!

After work, I caught up with my bestest friend from since I could walk.  Honestly my best friend from the time I was not a whole lot older than my own kids.  I hope they have that someday!  We had a late dinner & a few beers.  It was fantastic!

I ended the evening watching Dexter & Homeland with my love.

Tomorrow I'll celebrate with my 3 little loves & the rest of my fam.

I'm an incredibly blessed 29 year old!!  And I hope this year plans on being good to me, because I plan to live it up to the fullest.

Holding my breath
