Birthday weekend

Friday afternoon the weather was BEAUTIFUL!  And we were hoping it would be that nice for Saturday too.  So the kids & I spent a little time "cleaning up" outside just incase!  I had the broom out to sweep down any cob webs I could find.  Hayden is obsessed with "weep"ing lately.  So when I was done he took it upon himself to sweep the patio!

 Meanwhile... Logan & Livi were being "bucket heads!"  Literally!  Weirdos.  Ran around the yard & drove cars with buckets on their heads.  Laughed up a storm!

Post-flu we had a bit of a growth spurt.  Logan's face looks a little chubby here!  And Liv's jeans above... need to be tossed in the too small pile!  Yikes!

 Then we spent the evening at the High School districts play-off game.  Unfortunately, we lost :(  But it was a great game!  The kiddos were ready to go about 1/2 way through the 3rd quarter, but it was a close game, so we made them stick it out.  The boys ate bags & bags of popcorn & ran around.

 Livi sat nice & watched for a while.... then slept.

Tisha, Aaron, Addie & Ava stayed with us over the weekend too.  They got in late Friday night, so we didn't get to play until Saturday & Sunday.

Livi keeps breaking her new pink glasses.  She has never had this issue before, so there has to be something about this pair she doesn't like.  I have new lenses ordered for her old glasses.... so until those come in, we're kinda going without.  Hoping I can take that pink pair back?  I think there was a 90 day return policy?

After everyone had gone home.  After our 3.5 hour naps.  After supper & baths... there was 1 more set of presents to open.  I had gotten the kiddos each a little something not knowing how many gifts they would have to open at their party or how it would go over.  Since they had a ton & were pretty over it by the end, I saved these.  Thought about just holding onto them until Christmas, but in one bag was the CARS 2 movie & I want to watch it!!  So a few DVDS & some CARS & Dora bubble bath round out our weekend of party & presents!

TWO!!

Today we turned TWO!!  I simply can not believe it!

We had a house full of friends, family & love.  A simply fantastic afternoon & evening celebrating.  Your are so loved (& spoiled!)

My 2lb 13.3oz, itty, bitty baby turns TWO!!

ONE                                          TWO

You are a man of your own accord.  You can entertain yourself all alone, lining up your cars all day long.  You love to play with anything that goes.  Trains, cars, tractors & airplanes.  You have, without a doubt, inherited the anal gene from your mother.  For example, you are obsessed with grouping things in color categories.  And you are obsessed with carrying around all 3 Lightning McQueen matchbox cars we have.  Two will absolutely NOT do.  And don't dare trying to substitute any other car.  You don't take no for an answer.  Ever!  You are an extremely picky eater.  You love chicken nuggets, but still eat no other meat.  Or peanut butter.  The only red food I can think of you will eat is strawberries.  Your current favorite thing to eat is "babbles" {waffles}  Eggos that is.  You would eat them for every meal of every day.  Your favorite word is "yuck!"  Your vocabulary is growing & you are learning to put 2 words together.  Your sister calls you "Go-gun."  Your brother calls you "Na-nou" (think Mork & Mindy).  You call yourself (and your brother) "None-en."  You are shy.  You are kind of a chicken.  However, you enjoy going to school & never shed a tear.  You wear a size 6 shoe.  A size 18-24 month pants.  And 24month-2T tops.  You never.sit.still.  Ever.  You sleep 12 hours through the night, in your big boy bed.  And take one 2 hour nap each afternoon.  Your giggle can make me smile even on the worst day of the year. 

When I look at how much you have grown & learned in just 2 years, my head spins thinking about three (or 18!).  What a wild & amazing ride we have instore.  I love you Logan Daniel.  Happy Birthday!

Olivia Paige is TWO!

At 1:23pm today....

My little 2lb 14.4 oz baby girl turns TWO!

You single handedly keep our household free from the sound of silence.  You talk, talk, talk, talk, talk!  You spout out new words daily, and repeat everything that comes out of mommy & daddy's mouth.  You are always putting 2, 3, 4 words together & are on the brink of making sentences.  You are a little mother asking your crying brothers "ut appen?"  {what happened?}  And you insist on them behaving just so.  Telling them "shhh" when they cry in time outs or walking them over to me when they hide from diaper changes.  Beyond your vocabulary, your knowledge amazes me on a daily basis.  You want to know everything!  You are learning your colors, so far you know 5 pretty well.  And you can point out & name 7 body parts.  You like Elmo & babies.  But you also like to drive trucks & trains with your brothers.  Your brothers call you "Yi-ya."  You call yourslef "Ya-ya!"  You wear a size 6 shoe.  24month-2T pants.  And 2T-3T tops.  You LOVE your mama {and your lovie!}  You enjoy the opportunity to make your own decisions.  I often ask you want you want for meals & make what you suggest.  You sleep 12 hours at night, in your big girl bed.  And take one 2 hour nap each day.  You are definately a girl!  You like purses.  And I have caught you in the bathroom rubbing blocks all over your face (like make-up).  You like pretties in your hair.  Like neclaces, bracelets & even rings. 

It has been amazing watching you grow from such a fragile baby... to such a brilliant little girl.  I can't even begin to imagine what the next year will have in store for you!  I love you Olivia Paige!  Happy Birthday!

Hayden Thomas is TWO!

At 1:22pm today....

My itty bitty 3lb 0.7oz baby turns TWO!!

ONE                                  TWO

You have always been... and still remain, a man of your own mind.  You were the unheard of preemie, whose feeding tube was out at 33weeks 6days.  (I recently had a nurse practitioner who didn't even meet you as a baby tell me that one of the neonatologist still talks about you to this day!)  And its no secret you love your food still today.  You are a fantastic eater & not difficult to please.  Some of your favorite foods include "zaza" {pizza}, cheese, fruit snacks & any type of fruit.  Though your current favorite is apples.  Your personality is so determined its amazing (and sometimes frustrating).  You are very strong willed!  You love cars, trains, airplanes & anything that goes!  You can name several body parts & your vocabulary is increasing at a very rapid rate.  You are mastering the art of putting 2 words together.  Your sister calls you "Maas."  Your brother calls you (and himself) "None-en."  And strangely, you don't say your own name yet.  You wear a size 7 shoe.  A size 24month-2T pants.  And 2T-3T tops.  You sleep a wonderful 12 hours at night, in your big boy bed.  And take one 2 hour nap each afternoon.  You are outgoing & not scared to join in a group.  But you are definately still a mama's boy & very loving & tenderhearted.  Sometimes you like to just sit & hold your mommy's hand.  You love to watch out for your brother & sister, making sure they put their tooth brushes away & threw their trash away.  You play the "big brother" roll very well.  You do a great job helping clean up!  You have an infectious smile that melts my heart in a way I could never imagine possible. 

I have had so much fun watching you grow to be two.  And I am so excited to see how much fun the journey to THREE will be!!  I love you Hayden Thomas.  Happy Birthday!

Procrastinating....just for you!

Well the kiddos are napping & I am supposed to be cleaning the house in preparation for a little party we are having this weekend.  What party?  Well to celebrate our 3 little munchkins turning 2, thats what party!

So what am I doing?  Well, this afternoon I got my hot little hands on a CD.  What CD?  Well, the CD with the pictures of the little munchkins' 2 year pictures!  Woo-hoo!  What a fast turn around time on pictures, awesome!  So cleaning is taking a backseat to sharing a "few" with you.  There are 144 pictures on the CD.  My oh my!  Various edits of things & such.  And she said to just let her know if I wanted a different edit of anything.  {So if all of you with eagle eyes see anything you think would look awesome edited in some other way let me know!  I already know there are a few I just got in black & white that I want to see in color.}  This is why I only do pictures with photographers who sell you the rights to your pictures on CD!  I can't imagine not having the opportunity to print more of whatever, whenever.  Or edit them.  Or share them online!

It was one heck of an afternoon, that picture taking session.  Cool.  WINDY!  And the kiddos were crabby.  {Which you can't tell so much in their faces in the pictures as you can in Jeff & mine.  Next time we'll have a few drinks first ;) }

Thank you Marty Shepard Photography for sharing your time & talent with us!  And for putting up with our energetic, cranky toddlers.  It was a pleasure!  It's always amazing to me how despite tears & tantrums.... there is always so much beauty to be found in a moment, the click of the camera.  They aren't perfect, just like us.  But we successfully captured the little moments in life that make it all worth it.
