Home from camping

We just got home from camping.  I've done 9 loads of laundry & uploaded 195 pictures.  I need to sort through them & put together a blog post to show you all the fun we had.  But for now, a glimpse at the amazing weather we had for our 2 days away.  Even with 3 3.5 year olds in tow, this was just the relaxing get away I needed.

Community Days, Take 2

We took on another community days this past weekend.  This time, in the town where our old house was.  Hard to imagine its been almost a year since we moved!?

Friday night was fireworks, but the kids were cranky & the parents were tired.  So we went to bed early.

Saturday morning Jeff ran the 3 mile race (and won his age division of people running the 3 mile, there was also a 5 mile run).

Then we hit up the parade.  This is always the longest, fullest parade.  So many things to see & so many treats.  There is always floats handing out water bottles & popsicles too, which is the greatest thing!!

Logan was a waving fool!!  He actually waved to all the fire trucks!
This is what Hayden thought of the fire trucks.
Still waving.....  Still covering his ears....
 Silly girl got a flag.
My favorite ever parade float.  Its my favorite every year.  He plays the accordion & sings polka songs the whole parade.
More waving.  He is just too sweet sometimes :)

There wasn't much else Saturday for kids activities & Hayden & Olivia were getting over a cold, so it was a nice free afternoon to catch a good nap.

Sunday after church, we took a brief stroll through the car show.
Mostly to see THIS!  Mater!  Too cool of an idea!
This was Olivia's favorite car.  She says she's going to drive it when she's a "grown-n-up."

Then after lunch, it was bounce houses & tractor rides in the park.
Then we decided it was too hot for the park & hit up the pool for a few hours.  We did the big pool some & Olivia jumped off the diving board some here too.  (but we didn't have enough hands with 2 adults & 3 kids to take any real pictures)

It was a fun weekend!!

Random-ness

I'm a bit of a type A, anal retentive, organized type personality.  Drives dear husband bonkers. Well Jeff, I'm afraid I'm creating monsters!  I asked the kids to take their clothes off & put them in a pile so we could put on swim suits.  When I returned from fetching said swim suits, I didn't find a pile, I found 3.  Organized into shirts, underwear & shorts.  Honestly... my heart loves this!!!!

Silly faces after a bath.  I can still fit all 3 of them on my lap.  {Just barely}

Community Days

We took a weekend trip out of town to my grandparent's house to visit & partake in their community days weekend events.  We slumber partied Friday & Saturday night & packed our days full of swimming, parade, fireworks & lots of fun.  Grandma GG, Molly & Analeigh came too.

Friday night dinner in the park
Grandma GG & the Grandkids
Playing in the park
It was HOT, HOT, HOT so we headed back to Grandma & Grandpa's for shade & water.  We played outside some more.  Bubbles, trikes & basketballs.
There was a large sheet of bubble wrap they wanted to get rid of, so we put it out for the kids to jump on.
Logan actually made quite a few shots while shooting some hoops.
And Hayden learned to pedal!!  He has refused to really even try at home.  And he just sat down on this trike & took off.  We'll see if he can carry that over to his bike.

They played so hard, they ate 1/2 a bag of Cheetos for a snack before heading in.

We ended the evening with a FULL bathtub!
I think the days of kids hiding in clothing racks while shopping & panic attacks that a kid is lost are near.  Hayden is ALWAYS hiding.  At least so far he giggles all the while, so he is pretty easy to find.

Saturday morning started of with a pancake feed at Heritage Park.
This is the big turning griddle they make their pancakes on.
Kids racing to building to burn off some energy.
 Golf cart ride with Grandpa
We did walk through one of the buildings with the kids.  It was full of things & I figured the kids would just be naughty, but they were very intrigued.  An old doctors exam table, old beds, an old metal bath tub.... they asked questions about all of it.

After breakfast.... we were ready for the parade.
The kids were a little shy about running out, which surprised me.  But they had fun.
Hayden spent 1/2 of the time sitting & having Grandma open his candy.  When he ran out, he came back to get more.  Then went & sat down to eat it all again.
 Yeah, we're pretty awesome!!

After the parade, it was off to bounce houses in the park.
It was so, so hot, but the kids played & played.  They were soaking, dripping wet with sweat, but they had an absolute blast!
They did such an unbelievable job waiting patiently in line.

After a LONG afternoon nap, we headed off to my favorite swimming pool.
And immediately, the kids hit he big slide.  Well, Hayden & Olivia did anyways.
Livi has been begging a week leading up to this weekend to go down the big slide by herself.  And that she did.  One adult went up to send her down (then came down with Hayden) & another adult just caught her at the bottom.  In fact, towards the end, she even went up by herself & waited for the lifeguard to signal to her she could go.
Hayden rode on laps & on backs.  Weirdo, wanted to go down sitting "behind a grownup" & just held on behind.
 And then there is Logan.....
This is the only way he would come in the "deep" water without screaming & crying & scratching my skin off while I held him.  He is SUCH a different personality than his siblings.
Meanwhile, Analeigh thinks she's a grown up!
They also went down the little slide a bunch.
Logan actually went down quite a few times, which he didn't do our last trip there.
 And then there is THIS!!!
Yep she did it!!

Last time her & Hayden wanted to go, then didn't jump.  Molly dropped them off the edge.  This time, Hayden same thing.  And Olivia.... she did it!  Once she went once, she wanted to go a million times.  My legs were sore afterwards from all the time I spent treading water.  At first I had to count to 3 & then she would jump, but by the end she basically took off & ran right off without any fear.

Saturday night was an AMAZING fireworks show!  Honestly, one of the best shows I've seen.
They were so tired, but really enjoyed the fireworks.

Sunday after Church, we had an amazing lunch out, played a little more, then hit the road.  It was a great, much needed weekend away.
