Turkey Day '12

We have so much to be thankful for.  A never ending list.  Our health.  (Health- says the girl home on a sick day from work because daycare thinks Hayden has pink eye.  Doesn't look too bad to me, jury is still out.  Sinus crud vs pink eye?)  Our new home. Our family & friends.  Just to name a few.

And I am thankful for the opportunity we had to spend time with both of our families this Thanksgiving!  We spent Thanksgiving day at my grandparents' house with a good portion of our extended family.  And the weekend with Jeff's family.

I don't know if its being a year older, or if it is learning independence & social skills at preschool, or a combination of both of the above, but the kids had SO.MUCH.FUN!  We would find them off in a bedroom with the door shut building Legos with older cousins.  Or setting up a band with drums, dancing & kids singing their ABCs.  And there were slumber parties with Addie & monster hunting & "ghost" stories with Uncle J too.  It was almost an odd sensation to sit & eat without a kid (or 3) hanging on my arms & legs.  Actually it was an odd sensation to SIT!  The whole weekend & we had 1 Hayden poop accident (or small series of accidents) & Logan had 2 pee accidents while off playing with 4 other 3 year olds all evening.  That includes 7+ hours of car time between all the trips.  Funny how at this stage you "judge" the success of the weekend in hours spent playing & number of potty accidents.

We had a Great Thanksgiving Weekend!!

The 5 littlest Maas Grandkids on Grandpa Maas' lap.
He TRULY believes he is Buzz!
 "To 'finity & 'ond"
Jeff's brother Jason has grandkids that we don't see too often, but they had the girls for the weekend so we had 5 3 year olds & 2 1 year olds!!  Pretty soon they we're going to need a bigger kid table!  There is just 6 months between the 5 of them!
They all played so hard all weekend!!
Slumber party!  Addie made it until 4am or so both nights.  There is nothing about this I don't love!
And they helped Grandma Maas get out Christmas decorations.  Oh 3 year olds & the magic of Christmas!

Then we spent Sunday afternoon getting our own home ready for "Skrismas time!" {per Olivia}  Jeff did the outside lights while the kids & I did the tree!  They had an absolute blast!  Hayden would have hung 10,000 ornaments on the tree had I had that many!
Putting up the tree motivated us or made us take the couch down to the basement to make room. Something I've been meaning to do since the week we moved in!
I did have to help a bit. All of our ornaments landed at this height.  Each branch at their eye level had about 5 ornaments on it.  But they did awesome with the hooks!
 Admiring their work!
Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving!  And we hope your Holiday Season is full of friends, family & blessings.
And since we're home "sick" today we also got to see the season's first snow!  Big beautiful flakes!!
