Daycare Day #2

Daycare day #2 has come & gone.
And I was correct in assuming drop off #2 would be rough.  Wake-up, again went well.  But as soon as we got in the daycare door... Hayden knew what was up.  And tears of "bye-bye" & "peas" welled up immediately.  {On a side note, it is nice when your kids learn the word please.... but it also sucks.  Makes you feel even worse telling your kid no, or leaving them crying when they say please :( }

Olivia was fine, until she saw me try to sneak out.  Then she screamed, true Olivia blood curdling screams.  Logan... was playing nicely.  Pushing a doll around in a stroller.  He is our Mr. Independent, has always been less needy.  But he is also kind of the shyest & most people scared, so I thought he would have the hardest time.  But (knock on wood) thus far it hasn't phased him!  I'm so proud of him!

Jeff chatted with the gals when he picked them up.  {Wish I could be the pick-up parent rather than the drop off parent!}  And it sounds like it went well.  Some tears off & on again, but overall an ok day.  They got to go outside & play peek-a-boo in the late morning & they said after that Hayden & Livi warmed up to it all well.  They also played with flour, I think in a sand table because I saw a sand table out when I dropped them off that wasn't there last week.  Lunch didn't go as well as last week.  But they all have colds (yeah one day of daycare & we have colds, nice huh?  Seems like everyone I know has colds though, so maybe its just a coincidence.)  Anyways, we have colds & snot & drool, so its not unusual for them not to eat.  Their "report card" for the day says they were happy, silly & lovable.  Nap was short.  Bedtime came early.  But another day towards mastering our new routine is in the books.

I had a (excuse my choice of words) SHITTY stretch of work.  I had to re-arrange some things & do some favors to get the weekend off to celebrate Addie's birthday.  And it ended up being in 8 days I have worked 6 12 hour shifts & been on call an extra 6 hours & gone in for 2 hours of education.  So...I have basically LIVED at work the past week & I am beyond ready for a few days off!

Hoping for a trip to the park Thursday afternoon to have some fun mommy-kiddo time.  Heaven knows we need it!
